Students who win these awards must be resident in Oakville and attend a publicly funded high school. They are selected on the basis of academic achievement, community service and leadership. One of the awards is for a mature student studying full time at a post-secondary institution.

The scholarships are: The Mildred G. Allworth Award, The Performing Arts Award, 3 Community Service Awards including the Shirley Henderson and Jean Malcolm Smith Community Service Awards, 4 University Entrance Awards, an Access Award and a Mature Student Award.

CFUW-Oakville raises funds for these awards through member donations and fundraising events. CFUW-Oakville is a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women and of the International Federation of University Women. The Oakville chapter was founded in 1949 and is a volunteer, non-partisan, non-profit and self-funded organization.

We are very proud of these talented and committed young women: Andrea Correia, Karyn Sun, Julia Baldaro, Zora Jovic, Jordan Dixon, Maria Thomas, Nathaly Jarrin, Hazel Garde, Leslie Ashworth, Tashana Cain and Amanda Prestige. We wish them all good luck in their chosen program and we are confident that they will do well.
