On Friday, June 10th, 2016 Halton Regional Police responded to a serious personal injury collision on Trafalgar Road, north of Iroquois Shores, in the Town of Oakville, which is located just north of Oakville Place.
At approximately 7:15 pm, a motor vehicle, driven by a 48-year old male, was traveling south on Trafalgar Road when it mounted the west curb and struck a 20-year-old female pedestrian that was walking south on the sidewalk.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a resident of the City of Etobicoke. The driver, a resident of the Town of Oakville, was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and took carriage of the investigation. South bound Trafalgar Road was closed for approximately 7 hours for the collision investigation.
At this point in the investigation, charges have not been laid. Alcohol is not considered to be a contributing factor in the collision.
