On Saturday February 20th, 2016 police were called to an Oakville residence in the Wedgewood Creek neighbourhood just after 4:30 pm. A resident was confronted at the door by a suspect carrying a suspected handgun.  Wedgewood Creek is located north of Upper Middle Road and East of Trafalgar Road.

The resident quickly closed the door and contacted police. The suspect fled the area on foot. Police and K9 units searched the area. One party was stopped by police nearby for investigation and later released after determining he was not involved.

The suspect is described as:

  1. Male,
  2. Caucasian,
  3. olive skin tone,
  4. 5’2″ to 5’5″ tall,
  5. thin build,
  6. short dark hair and
  7. a dark moustache.

The suspect was wearing a black winter coat, toque and jeans.

Police do not believe this was a random incident and the residence was targeted by the suspect. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the HRPS Oakville Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-825-4747 ext. 2215, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS), through the web at, or by texting “Tip201” with your message to 274637 (crimes).
