In the early morning hours of Saturday 18th May 2013 three suspects forced entry into a private residence on Bond Street in Oakville.

Once inside the residence the three accused had a short physical confrontation with the homeowners and their teenage son resulting in the father having to go to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The three accused fled the residence with an assortment of the victims jewelry and other personal property. Responding officers quickly cordoned off the area and with the assistance of the police K9 unit the three accused were located nearby attempting to evade police by hiding in the river.

After commandeering a neighbours row boat the accused were taken into custody by the responding officers. A search by the police marine unit resulted in the recovery of the victims jewelry.

Facing numerous charges including Break and Enter, Robbery, Forcible confinement, Assault with a weapon and wearing a disguise during commission of an offence are the following:

  • Mumin Mian 18yrs of Oakville
  • Chris John-Baptiste 23yrs of Toronto
  • One Young Offender.

This incident was an isolated and targeted act of crime and is not related to the residential robbery in Oakville from the night of 14th May.
