At approximately 9:30am on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 , members of the Burloak Canoe Club were out training on the 16 Mile Creek in downtown Oakville’s harbour leading out to Lake Ontario.

While returning to the Burloak Canoe Club just north of the Oakville Power Boat Club, the victim heard what appeared to be shots from a BB gun. The victim was then hit in the calf with a pellet. No injuries were sustained by the victim.

The victim noticed the accused, Melonie Adams in a backyard backing onto the creek.

Investigation by police lead to the arrest of:

Melonie ADAMS, 29 years from Oakville who has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Discharge air gun with intent
  • Point a firearm

ADAMS will appear in court on June 9, 2015.
