On Friday, February 25, 2016, Police were called by HARP Security at 1:43 a.m. after they spotted two males in the fenced compound at 410 S.Service Rd W – Budds Chev.
The suspects spotted security and ran to a waiting cube van and then fled the area. Security followed the suspect vehicle onto the eastbound QEW at Dorval. Police intercepted the suspect vehicle at this location and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused.
Police initiated a pursuit. A short distance later, the suspect vehicle ended up in a ditch at QEW and Trafalgar. The suspects then fled on foot – one male suspect (adult) was arrested. A K9 track was initiated for the second suspect.
There were no injuries.
The accused, Keerthan MANGALESWARAN, 22 years of age from Mississauga, Ontario has been charged with the following criminal offences:
1) Break and enter
2) Wear disguise with intent
3) Possession of break in instruments
4) Possession of property obtained by crime
5) Escape lawful custody
6) Dangerous driving
7) Flight while pursued by police
8) Theft of motor vehicle
Mangaleswaran is being held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Milton on Friday February 26, 2016.
A second unknown suspect is still being sought by police.
