The Weather Network’s Chris Mei acted as the evening’s master of ceremonies, delighting the audience while sponsors handed out the awards. One of a kind framed, fibre art awards were designed exclusively for this year’s award recipients by local artist and active QEPCCC member Donna Funnell.

“The Community Spirit Awards recognizes residents who selflessly dedicate their lives to serving others,” said Nina de Vaal, director, Recreation and Culture. “This year’s nominees cover a wide range of interests, but they all have one important thing in common—they carry with them a strong commitment to this community. We applaud them for making a difference and encouraging others to do the same.”

Since 2002, Oakville’s Community Spirit Awards have recognized individuals and groups for their outstanding contribution to the community.
