The December 2017 productions at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts are bountiful with Christmas sentiment. There is a great deal to choose from, and for all of this the season’s performances tickets are still available.

The Nutcracker: Oakville School of Classical Ballet

Oakville School of Classical Ballet: December 2017

Performances will take place on December 1 at 7:30 PM, 2nd at 2PM and 7 PM, and 3rd at 1 PM & 5 PM.

The Nutcracker: An Oakville family tradition for over 35 years. Experience the magic of The Nutcracker this holiday season with Oakville Ballet’s elaborate full length production. Join Clara, her Nutcracker and the magician Drosselmeyer in this traditional festive tale for the whole family. In a world of elegance, The Nutcracker brings to life the eternally popular Tchaikowsky score following Clara’s whimsical journey through the Land of Snow to the Kingdom of Sweets. Featuring students from the Oakville School of Classical Ballet under the artistic direction of Amanda Paterson.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Grace Academy and Spurrell Singing Studio

Performance will be December 5 at 7:30 PM.

An evening of song and dance presented by students of Grace Academy and Spurrell Singing Studio to celebrate the Christmas season.

A Colourful Christmas: Balletomane

Performances will take place on December 7th and 8th at 7:00 PM.

‘A Colorful Christmas’ demonstrates the hard work and effort of Balletomane’s dancers. The show is in two acts and is approximately 2.5 hours in length. This show displays an array of dance disciplines and is sure to get you in a ‘Festive Mood’!

Family Christmas Concert: Oakville Symphony
Two performance will take place on December 10, as 1:30 and 4:00 PM.

This very popular one hour concert is back again this season. A full orchestra playing seasonal favourites provides holiday fun for the entire family. Children can join in by playing the jingle bells, the drums or maybe even as a conductor. Special guests “The Oakville Children’s Choir”.

Tartan Terrors Christmas

Performance will be December 13 at 8:00 PM.

Tartan Terrors are their own Celtic Invasion, mixing rock’s energy with traditional folklore, dance, and humor. With an arsenal featuring classic pipes and fiddle, driving drum tones, and signature guitar styles, the Terrors use their Sonic blitz to score award winning Step and Highland Dancers and internationally recognized comedic performers alike.

Performance will take place on December 16 at 8:30 PM. This event will take place in the Studio Theatre.

Music is deep in her blood. LZL [LIZ LOKRE], has been writing and performing since she was 12, growing up singing in church, and winning music competitions across North America. But LZL gravitated toward Stevie Wonder, Sade, and Alicia Keys. Her vocal coach –who she shares with The Weeknd – recommended her to Adrian X, the guitarist and OVO Festival musical director, who has headed up the live bands for Drake, The Weeknd, Partynextdoor and more.

This Holiday season, the incredible showman, Pete Paquette, and his band, the Rockin’ Royals with the sensational Tonettes, returns in “Elvis: A Christmas Special”, a new show featuring a special guest performance by the dazzling Ms. Amberley Beatty.
Best known for his portrayal as Elvis Presley, Pete takes the stage to celebrate the Christmas Holidays through a special tribute performance of the King’s greatest Christmas carols and songs of inspiration such as “Blue Christmas”, “Here Comes Santa Claus”, “I Believe”, “The Wonderful World of Christmas”, and many more favourites.

Most of the December 2017 performances will take place in the main auditorium. Tickets for November 2017 can be purchased at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Art‘s Box office at 146 Navy Street. Box Office hours are from Monday to Friday: 10 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 1:00 PM to performance time. Tickets are also available online.
