At 6:50 AM on Tuesday May 10, 2016 the Halton Regional Police responded to a single vehicle accident on Bronte Road just south of Rebecca Street in the community of Bronte Village in Oakville.

A car struck a hydro pole causing the pole to fail and down power lines on Bronte Road. The driver of the car only sustained minor injuries, according to police.

Oakville Hydro repair crews arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, and estimated that it would take several hours to do the repair. A brief power interruption will be experienced as the power is restored to the lines. The expected time of completion is 1:00 PM on May 10, 2016.

Halton Regional Police have closed Bronte Road in both directions from Rebecca Street to Hixon. Drivers are asked to either use 3rd Line or Burloak Drive to avoid the area.
