Knitting/Crocheting Demonstration
Oakville Knitters and Crocheters (OAKC) — Fibre Arts Studio
Learn the basics of knitting from OAKC members. Check out their
unique knitting and crochet projects.

10 a.m.–noon
Culture Day Workshop: Wood Shop — Woodworking Studio
Transform wood into sculpture using basic woodworking skills! Parent and
child work with the studio technician to explore tools and techniques
while engaging in a fun woodworking project. Child registers: adult
accompanies (one child per one adult). Age: 7–16

10 a.m.–noon
Culture Day Workshop: Life Drawing — Studio 2
Learn basic figure drawing techniques using a life model. Led by an
instructor, this session is also open to those who want to draw without
instruction. Age: 18+

10–10:50 a.m. and 11–11:50 a.m.
Culture Day Workshop: Kids Improv Workshop
Oakville Improv Theatre Company — Music Room 1
These workshops use basic improvisation techniques to help kids learn
valuable presentation and acting techniques that will get them talking
to other kids, and thinking on their feet with confidence. Parents
welcome. Child registers: adult accompanies. Age: 8+

11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Nine Patch Bonanza
Oakville Quilter’s Guild — Studio 4
Design and sew quilt blocks to be used in future charity quilts.
Open to all ages.

11 a.m.–noon
HeartBEATZ
Halton Dance Network (HDN) — Main Entrance
Local choreographer, Lisa Emmons, will collaborate with the HDN
committee, and a dance collective from the three communities to
create an original dance piece. Local dance studios will showcase
an interactive dance workshop where the audience and dancers come
together as a single heartbeat.

Noon–3 p.m.
Arts Puzzle Challenge
Oakville Arts Council — Lobby
Pick up your copy of the Arts Oakville Word Search and challenge
your friends to a friendly competition of reconstructing arts puzzles.
Prizes awarded.

Noon–4 p.m.
Oakville Drama Series
The Oakville Players — Lobby
The Oakville Players will discuss their upcoming season, provide
subscription details, answer questions and showcase volunteer
opportunities within the organization.

1–2 p.m.
Steel Pan Performance and Workshop
Canadian Caribbean Association — Multi-Purpose Rooms 1 and 2
Enjoy live Caribbean music as well as a chance to learn how to play
the steel pan instruments.

1–3 p.m.
Furniture Repair Forum — Woodworking Studio
Local furniture designers will talk shop about home furniture repair
and refinishing. This is a fun and informative Q&A and demo session,
so bring your inspiring stories and burning questions. Common
woodworking joining, finishing and upholstery basics will be discussed.
Age: 18+

1–3 p.m.
All Ages Clay Drop-in — Studio 1
Whether you’re a novice or pro, or just curious about clay, drop by to
muck around for fun! The studio technician will be there to assist and
discuss our adult studio membership program offering. This workshop
is skill-based; there will not be a final project. No wheel work during
this session. Children must be accompanied by an adult. First-come,
first-served. Spaces are limited. Dress for a mess! Age: 3+

1:30–2:30 p.m.
Celtic Fiddle Orchestra of Southern Ontario — Rehearsal Hall
Enjoy a free concert by the Celtic Fiddle Orchestra of Southern Ontario.
Listen to beautiful Celtic fiddle music arranged by violin, viola, cello, etc.
Accompanied by Oakville Suzuki students.

7–9 p.m.
Open Mic and Karaoke Night — Black Box Theatre
Showcase your talents on stage or sit back and enjoy the
entertainment as a member of the audience. Age: 11–18
