Please join us for a special breakfast to kick off Oakville’s 2017 Terry Fox Run
and celebrate the 37th Anniversary of the Terry Fox Run
Keynote Speaker: Leslie Scrivener
In April 1980, not long after Terry Fox started his Marathon of Hope in St. John’s, Nfld., the
Toronto Star assigned a reporter to follow him weekly in a feature called Running with Terry,
becoming the first newspaper to regularly cover his progress. The reporter was Leslie Scrivener,
a Star feature writer who would go on to write the definitive book on the young amputee who
changed the world – Terry Fox: His Story.
Join us for breakfast and hear her story.
