Life is stressful. Things that cause stress are always going to be with us. But that does not mean that we can do nothing to manage stress, to minimize its negative effects. One of the more effective tools to emerge in recent years for managing stress is Mindfulness Meditation.

Beginning Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. at Maple Grove, Dr. Arnaud Painvin, a cardiac surgeon who has practiced, taught and coached meditation for many years, will lead participants in learning the practice of this very simple but powerful technique. Anyone can learn it and reap its well-documented benefits — no religious ritual, mysticism, or artifice is involved, just an open mind and a commitment to practice.

Dr. Painvin has prepared reading materials to introduce and explain Mindfulness Meditation that should be picked up at the church office in advance. Give it a try — it just might change your life!
