A live, acoustic event at Taste of Colombia’s El Salon. Opening for Sarah and Ken is singer/songwriter AHI.

Sarah Smith…a powerful, passionate voice, and a very persuasive stage presence. She forms a strong connection with her audience almost instantly. Smith’s years in the business have fine-tuned her senses and she “feels” her audiences. Her music is her “conversation”, keeping an ongoing dialogue with her many fans. It’s natural, effortless and synergistic.

Smith’s voice led The Joys for almost ten years, touring all over North America. Many accolades, awards and concerts later The Joys decided to take a much needed break. Smith went solo….and she hasn’t looked back. Calling London, Ontario her first home, the road is her second home with Smith playing at minimum, 250 shows a year. Her voice has just the right amount of gravel to rock out but you can sense her heart, her soul and her passion. She is reminiscent of Melissa Etheridge, her influencers are Etheridge, Bruce Springsteen and Janis Joplin but listening to Smith you quickly forget about Etheridge or anyone else. You hear only Sarah Smith, a woman who thrives on music, performing and people….and she has fun! Her smile just lights up the room.

With Bob Marley as his inspiration and armed with a single guitar AHI performs his brand of Indie Soul in front of audiences all over the world. A passionate man, this is reflected in his music, his lyrics and his voice, which has been described as “gravel on silk”. The deep meaning of his songs are crystal clear. He has been recognized by Rita Marley herself — his version of Marley’s song “No Woman No Cry” appeared on Bob Marley’s official social media pages — and by the Nashville Songwriters Association International, and both the Toronto and Ontario Arts Councils among others. Now in the middle of recording his first full-length album in Nashville, AHI continues to “turn heads and capture hearts”.

Join us at A Taste of Colombia for an evening of great music. The perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a great cup of coffee.
