Recommendation:

Recommendation:
1. That the Site Plan Committee determines whether the three applications for a variance to the Sign By-law, submitted by Country Signs on behalf of Shell Canada Ltd. are appropriate.

 

2. Should the Site Plan Committee wish to approve the variances to the Sign By-law 2006-005, as amended, the following motion may be passed:
a) That the applications for variances to Sign By-law 2006-005, submitted by Country Signs on behalf of Shell Canada Ltd., Site Plan File Numbers: S.P. 1425.026/01SV, S.P. 1625.016/03SV & S.P. 1635.007/03SV, to permit canopy signage to be 1.2 m in height, in accordance with the plans submitted in Appendix C, be approved.

Recommendation:
1. That the Site Plan Committee determine whether the application for a variance to the Sign By-law, submitted by Jones Neon Displays Ltd. on behalf of Burloak Animal Clinic is appropriate.

 

2. Should the Site Plan Committee wish to approve the variance to the Sign By-law 2006-005, as amended, the following motion may be passed:
a) That the application for a variance to Sign By-law 2006-005, submitted by Jones Neon Displays Ltd. on behalf of Burloak Animal Clinic, Site Plan File Number: SP.1735.035/03SV, to permit one ground sign with an overall height of 2.99m and an overall size of 5.19 m2 inclusive of an 1.65 m2 electronic message board (both sides), in accordance with the plans submitted in Appendix C, be approved subject to the following conditions:
i. that the existing ground sign be removed;
ii. the minimum display time for any electronic message, without movement or change in colour, shall be once a day;
iii. the intensity of the illumination of the electronic message shall be maintained at a constant level;
iv. electronic message board shall be turned off during non-business hours (maximum duration 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.);
v. the electronic message shall be limited to display of letters and numbers and be exclusively related to the associated business (no third party advertising);
vi. the electronic message shall have a maximum of 3 lines of text with minimum letter height of 6”; and,
vii. the electronic message shall have amber monochrome LED colour only with auto-dim for non-daylight hours.

Recommendation:
1. That the Site Plan Committee determine whether the application for a variance to the Sign By-law, submitted by Kwik Signs on behalf of Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet, is appropriate.

 

2. Should the Site Plan Committee wish to approve a variance to the Sign By-law to permit the application, the following motion may be passed:
“That the application for a variance to the Sign By-law 2006-005, as amended, submitted by Kwik Signs on behalf of Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet (File SP.1614.50/05SV) to permit the installation of three fascia signs on the existing building that exceed the maximum height restrictions, be approved.”
