SPRING SERENADE
JACQUES ISRAELIEVITCH, VIOLIN
FORMER CONCERTMASTER,
TORONTO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

CHARLES DEMUYNCK, ORGAN
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR,
MASTERWORKS OF OAKVILLE

Jacques and Charles will bring the unusual but sonorously beautiful combination of violin and organ to St. Jude’s Church for the first time.

Born in France, Jacques Israelievitch served as concert master of the Toronto Symphony for twenty years, the longest tenure in that position in the orchestra’s history. Along the way he played for a Who’s Who of great conductors – Sir Georg Solti, Carlo Maria Giulini, Leonard Slatkin, Raymond Leppard, Sir Andrew Davis, Günther Herbig and others. He continues to be in demand as a soloist and chamber player.

A native of Dawson Creek, BC, Charles Demuynck holds a doctorate in conducting from the Hartt School in Hartford, Conn. He also holds conducting degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, and the University of Toronto. Charles is best known to Oakville audiences as the music director of Masterworks of Oakville and the Oakville Chamber Orchestra. He also serves as organist for St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Oakville. As a conductor, Charles’ interests are wide-ranging, going through the great choral and orchestral works of Bach, Handel, Beethoven and Mahler.
