First created in 2004, the “Turn Your Organisation Into a Volunteer Magnet” project was a tri-continental project which has been a benefit to many volunteer management professionals around the world. The project invited volunteer leaders to write and share, in 500 words or less, those things that made their volunteer program “magnetic”. Andy and Rob, along with UK colleague Fraser Dyer, collated these essays into two books that have since been downloaded tens of thousands of times.

In this workshop you’ll learn about common themes that emerged from these cutting edge programs, the pitfalls that successful volunteer programs were able to avoid and most important, how you can implement greater success in your own program.

Andy Fryar – Founder and Director of OzVPM, Australasian Volunteer Program Management, former President of Volunteering Australia and founding member of the editorial team for e-volunteerism.

Rob Jackson – Formerly the Director of Volunteering England, now Director of Rob Jackson Consulting Ltd, a consulting and training company that helps engage and inspire people to bring about change. Rob has been a member of the editorial team for e-volunteerism and trained on volunteer program management internationally for nearly twenty years.
