Update:  Halton Police Arrest Robbery Suspect after Finding Fingerprint at the Scene

On March 23rd, 2014, four unknown males forced their way into a residence, where a female Sheridan College student was at home alone. The four males armed with knives demanded money and drugs and forced the female into the bedroom area. The males stole several items of property before making good their escape.

Officers attended the scene and an investigation was conducted.  Halton Forensic Identification officers attended and during this forensic examination obtained a fingerprint from the area where one of the males had removed an X-box.  The fingerprint subsequently identified the accused.

On May 27th, 2014, officers from the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau attended an address in Mississauga and attempted to arrest the accused. The accused fled the scene in a vehicle, drove up onto sidewalks and struck two unmarked police vehicles to ensure his escape.

On June 12th, 2014, the accused surrendered himself to investigators at the Oakville police station without incident.

Tajahan Donovan KELLY, 19, from Mississauga has been charged with:
Robbery
Break and Enter
Dangerous Operation
Weapon dangerous
Disguise with intent

Accused has been held for a bail hearing.

Five masked perpetrators invaded an apartment at 1360 White Oaks Blvd, Oakville at approximately 6:25 pm on Sunday 23rd of March. The suspects entered a residence dressed in dark clothing demanding drugs. One of the suspects brandished a knife. Once inside the residence the suspects stole numerous household electronics and fled on foot.

Normally home invasions are targeted incidents, and it appears that they targeted the wrong apartment.

 None of the victims were injured during this incident.
