Last night, May 26, 2015, Pam Damoff was officially recognized as the Federal Liberal Candidate for North Oakville/Burlington Riding, filling the vacancy left behind after the passing of Max Khan. She announced her decision to run on April 29th. The federal election is expected to be called for this fall.
Currently, Pam is the sitting Oakville town councillor for Ward 2. As a councillor she has been on the board of the following committees: Oakville Tourism Board Partnership, Oakville Public Library Board, the 2015 Budget committee, community services committee, and the site plan committee.
On top of her duties as a councillor she is also the Chair of the Oakville Santa Claus Parade, Oakville Terry Fox Run Chair held each September, co-founder of Cycle Oakville and is a proud Polar Bear, both taking part and as a member of the organizing committee for the annual Courage Polar Bear Dip on January 1st at Coronation Park. If you want to find Pam, just look up the current events in Oakville and find the event that will have the greatest impact on the largest number of people, and Pam Damoff will be there.
Pam was first elected in 2010 as the Oakville town councillor for Ward 2, and was just re-elected in the November 2014 municipal election. She has been an active member of Liberal Party of Canada for many years, and helped to elect and re-elect MPP Kevin Flynn.
With 27 years experience in the financial and investment banking sector on Bay Street, Damoff believes that she would bring a well-balanced mix of both financial prudence as well as grass roots activism to the House of Commons. She is an effective problem-solver who believes in collaboration with all stakeholders to develop solutions.
In 2012 she was award the Queens Jubilee Medal for her community service, and in 2013 she was awarded the Bicycle Leadership Award for her work on the “Share the Road” Bicycling Coalition.
