The Collision Reconstruction Unit of Traffic Services has taken over the investigation into this matter.

The female pedestrian, a 59 year old Oakville resident, has been identified and her next-of-kin notified. She remains in serious condition and is being tranported to a trauma centre in Hamilton. There were no reported injuries to the bus driver or passengers.

The bus driver and several passengers have been interviewed and they have all provided statements to investigators.

No charges are being considered at this time. Although the weather and road conditions were poor at the time of the incident, they are not considered to be contributing causes.

The closed portion of southbound Trafalgar Road was re-opened by 1 p.m.

At 11:19am on December 11, 2014 Halton police responded to a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.

An Oakville Town Bus travelling southbound on Trafalgar Rd south of River Oaks Blvd attempted to avoid a collision with a female pedestrian who was not crossing at an intersection. Subsequently the lady was struck and unfortunately ended up under the bus.

The female patient has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Female, between 45-50 years of age, police not able to confirm identity.

Halton Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigators on scene commencing investigation. Unknown at this time if weather related.

Trafalgar Road southbound between River Oaks Blvd and Upper Middle Road will remained closed until further notice.

Updates will be provided by Collision Reconstruction investigators when available.
