Halton Regional Police are investigating an incident in Oakville where a trespassing pedestrian was struck and killed by a GO train.

The incident happened around 2:35 a.m. this morning when the eastbound GO train was near Fourth Line on the CNR line in Oakville. There were no passengers onboard, and there were no reported injuries to the 2 member crew.

Train service was restricted for approximately three hours but CN Police report no train delays will result from the service interruption.

Members of the Halton Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit have taken charge of the investigation with the assistance of CN Police and GO Transit Safety Officers.
