Oakville is always ready to keep you cool, and as the weather starts to warm up, we thought it would be a good idea to let you know where in your community you can splash in the water.

The most obvious place to cool off is Lake Ontario and there are three locations that are looked after by the Region. They are: Coronation Park East, Coronation Park West, and Bronte Beach. Bronte Beach is a beautiful spot just west of the Bronte Harbour, and has the only sandy beach in Oakville. Halton Region provides a Water Safety Report on Fridays, with water samples provided late Thursdays. So if there is a heavy rain, water quality can change.

The town has 16 splash pads scattered through out the town. My personal favourite is the huge splash pad located at Coronation Park. It will keep you and your children cool and entertained for the whole day. Here is a complete list of the splash pads open as of Friday:

  1. Coronation Park
  2. Forster Park
  3. Heritage Way
  4. Isaac Park
  5. Millbank Park
  6. Nautical Park
  7. Old Abbey Park
  8. Pineglen Park
  9. Postridge Park
  10. Sixteen Hollow Park
  11. Valleyridge Park
  12. Westoak Traills Community Park
  13. Wynten Way Park

There is also a town map that provides a visual of where the splash pads are located, just scroll to the bottom of the page: Oakville Splash Pad Map.

WhiteOaksPoolThe town has a total of 10 pools. There are five outdoor pools that will be open from June 18, 2016 to September 25, 2016. Here is the list of outdoor pools:
