Last month, an Oakville high school held its annual photo contest, attracting over 150 participants who submitted 300 entries. Only nine awards were up for grabs at this year's award ceremony.

Iroquois Ridge High School (IRHS) organized its annual photography competition, dubbed "IRHS in Your Eyes."

According to Nicole Tan, the President of the school's photography club, the competition is a "whole-school photography competition that aims to foster a deeper sense of connection among our students with the school community."

"We encourage the discovery of positive aspects within IRHS for our students and also serves as a unique opportunity to promote our school spirit and image within the Halton District area," Tan continued.

The competition received over 300 submissions capturing moments from the school year. Winners were announced at the awards ceremony, with first, second, and third place awarded in each category, totalling three winners per category.

Third place winners include:

  • Victoria Yep
  • Aisha Afshar
