A fire that took place at an Oakville home last night is being investigated after it caused an estimated $500,000 in damages.

Oakville Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault provided an update on a fire that broke out on Willowridge Court on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024.

According to Boissonneault, the Oakville Fire Department received a call just after 10:20 p.m., reporting a fire at the residence.

"The fire originated and was contained to the garage area which had some exotic cars inside," Chief Boissonneault told reporters. "The cause of the fire is undetermined however it is not deemed suspicious in nature."

Chief Boissonneault noted that while the Oakville Fire Department will have some follow-up with the homeowner, the substantive aspects of the investigation have been completed.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Chief Boissonneault says estimating the dollar loss is challenging due to the value of the contents and vehicles, as the full cost of smoke damage restoration is not yet known.

He says initial estimates suggest the damage could be around $500,000.
