Male Arrested in Oakville for $60K Retail Fraud Spree

On Wednesday January 6th the Halton Regional Police Service arrested a male party responsible for approximately $60,000 dollars of retail fraud, between January and June of 2015.

The accused is alleged to have defrauded Canadian Tire and Sears retailers throughout Ontario by using fraudulently Credit Card data to obtain merchandise and gift cards.

The arrest came after a warrant was executed by Canadian Boarder Services at Pearson International Airport as the accused returned to Canada from a trip overseas. Police worked closely with investigators from Canadian Tire and Sears Canada, that seen the crime spree perpetrated across Ontario.

The accused did not work alone and police continue to investigate accomplices seen working in conjunction with the accused.

Tijani ABDULAZEEZ (32yrs) of no fixed address was held for bail and will appear in Milton Provincial on January 7th.
Charges:

  1. Unauthorized use of Credit Card Data X8
  2. Fraud Under $5000 X8
  3. Possession of Property obtained by crime X8
  4. Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
