Visit Oakville welcomes Meggan Gardner to the role of chair on the committee’s board of directors. Gardner steps into the role vacated by Ray Chisholm as he steps down from the board to become councillor of Oakville’s Ward 2.
Meggan Gardner has worked for the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and Museum for 12 years and has served as Curator for nine. Throughout her tenure, she has played an integral role in the preservation of Canadian golf history, while actively sharing that rich heritage within the Oakville community and across the nation.
As chair of the organization’s marketing committee, Gardner was instrumental in its rebranding from Oakville Tourism Partnership to Visit Oakville. In 2014 she became the organization’s vice-chair.
As Gardner steps into her new role, she will continue to support and promote the Town as a prized tourist destination.
“I want to thank Ray Chisholm for his dedicated time and efforts as chair. I have a big set of shoes to fill as I prepare to take on this role but I look forward to embracing this opportunity head on,” Gardner says. “I send my best wishes to Ray on his endeavours as councillor, I know he will be a great success.”
Gardner has served on a number of boards and volunteer committees including Doors Open Oakville (2010-2012) and City Chase Toronto (2011 and 2013). She is entering her third year as Treasurer for the International Sports Heritage Association.
Visit Oakville would like express sincere gratitude to Ray Chisholm for his time served on the board as chair.
