Movember Cops

Each year, November 1st marks the start of a global fundraising initiative known as “Movember”.  During “Movember” men around the world sprout moustaches and raise money towards the research of prostate cancer and other men’s health issues.

This year, 55 members of the Halton Regional Police have registered a service wide team on the Movember.com website.  The Halton Regional Police Team is composed a variety of ranks within the Police Service including uniformed Constables, Sergeants, Detectives, Staff Sergeants, Inspectors and Superintendents.

The Halton Police Team has also been invited into the Movember “MOPO – Great Canadian Police Challenge” which is a friendly fundraising competition amongst 116 police services across Canada.

The goal of the team is simple:  Raise as much money as possible by November 30th in support of men’s health.  As of now, the Halton Regional Police Team has raised almost $10,000 and is ranked #1 in the MOPO – Great Canadian Police Challenge.

You can monitor the team’s progress throughout the remainder of “Movember” at  http://ca.movember.com/team/998869.
