Over 250 people from the business, labour, government and non-profit sectors helped kick off the town-wide United Way Oakville campaign by competing in the 5th Annual Bus Pull. 20 teams faced off against one another pulling two Oakville Transit buses for 40 seconds in the blistering heat. Participants were proud to pull newly branded United Way bus murals, generously sponsored by Pattison Outdoor and RE/MAX Aboutowne.

“Working with people like you, we are helping to improve lives locally,” commented Rob Lister, President & CEO of Oakville Enterprises Corporation and 2015 Campaign Chair, “the lives of our neighbours, friends and co-workers, all connected and supported through our community.”

Oakville Hydro, a strong partner of United Way Oakville’s, was the title sponsor of the 5th Annual Bus Pull. Community-minded restaurants Alice Fazooli’s, Browns Socialhouse, Cobs Bread and Wild Wings donated a delicious lunch to the Winston Park Café. Generous donations were also made by Quantum sound Entertainment, Fun Photos, Cineplex Odeon, Coca-Cola and Fully Alive Wellness Centre.
