In honour of the Winter Games the Downtown Oakville BIA will be hosting an Opening Celebration on February 7th from 11-2pm. Come on down and embrace and celebrate being Canadian in the open air of Towne Square and enjoy the ceremony with the businesses of Downtown Oakville. There will be skating, special guests and surprises!

“The RBC Skate in the Square has been a great addition to Downtown Oakville,” said Sharlene Plewman, executive director Downtown Oakville BIA. “We are especially happy that we have the rink this year to celebrate Canada’s involvement in the Winter Games.”

The businesses of Downtown Oakville and the rink sponsors have been thrilled with the community’s reaction to the RBC Skate in the Square this season. It is full of families every weekend enjoying their time together. We are also pleased to be able to combine having a rink downtown with celebrating the Winter Games and being Canadian.

Stop by the RBC tent on Friday February 7 from 11-2. There will be lots going on in RBC’s tent during the celebration: RBC Bronze winning Olympian and community ambassador Mark Oldershaw will be on hand to meet fans, Leo the Lion will be handing out hot chocolate and enter for your chance to win a signed Steven Stamcos jersey.
