On Friday September 4th, 2015 at approximately 0936hrs, Halton Regional Police received a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a train. The location was reported to be in the area of Kerr Street and Shepherd Road in the City of Oakville.

Emergency services personnel responded to the scene and located a deceased male on the train tracks. The Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and determined that the male had been struck by an eastbound GO train. All westbound and eastbound train traffic was halted for the investigation. The GO train involved was released from the scene after approximately one hour.

Police are still working to confirm the identity of the elderly male pedestrian and next-of-kin notification will subsequently follow.

Foul play is not suspected.
