Oakville break and enter pursuit leads to multiple collisions

A 26-year-old suspect trying to flee the scene of a break and enter has led to multiple car crashes.

A quick response by Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) officers have led to multiple charges for an Oakville break and enter suspect.

At 8:15 p.m. on April 23, 2024, the Halton Regional Police Service responded to the report of a break and enter in progress at a private residence in the area of Sixth Line and Dundas Street East, Oakville. Upon arriving home, the homeowner observed and confronted the female suspect inside the garage of the residence where the suspect was attempting to take various items located within the garage.

Upon being confronted the suspect attempted to flee the area in a stolen vehicle (taken from Minesing, Ontario) but in doing so collided with the homeowner’s vehicle.

HRPS officers responded, locating the suspect vehicle a short distance away, however the suspect refused to stop for police and a pursuit was initiated. In an effort to safely and quickly terminate the pursuit a tire deflation device was successfully deployed allowing officers to stop the vehicle and take the suspect into custody near the intersection of Trafalgar Road and Upper Middle Road, Oakville.

In their effort to evade police and make good their escape, the suspect did make intentional contact with police vehicles during the pursuit which resulted in damage to three police cruisers. No physical injuries were sustained by officers or by the homeowner as a result of the initial collision.

A subsequent search of the suspect vehicle located a quantity of prescription medications, cocaine, psilocybin, and crack cocaine.
