On December 30th, 2013 Corbett’s Sporting Goods located in the Town of Oakville was broken into in the early morning hours. Entry to the premise was gained through the roof.

An inventory of property stolen estimated the retail value to be $157,000.00 of men and women’s clothing.

Investigation by the Oakville Criminal Investigations Break and Enter Unit identified Costel BUSTEAN as the person responsible.

On March 26th, 2014 a traffic stop by uniform officers in Burlington was initiated on BUSTEAN’s motor vehicle. BUSTEAN was arrested at this time and a search of the vehicle conducted. Officers located tools used to commit break and enters as well as a quantity of merchandise believed to be stolen from a break in that occurred in the City of Toronto.

Accused: BUSTEAN, Costel (45 years) of Quebec

  • BUSTEAN has been charged with the following offences:
  • Break and Enter Commit Theft
  • Drive While Disqualified x 2
  • Possession of Break and Enter Instruments
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation x 2

The accused has been held pending a Bail Hearing in Milton Court on March 27th, 2014.
