Rash of Overnight Residential Break and Enters in Glen Abbey

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating four additional break and enters that occurred during the overnight hours of September 11 and 12, 2016. The entries were committed in the Dorval Drive and QEW area of Oakville while the residents were sleeping. In three of the occurrences the suspect(s) gained access to the home through an unlocked door or window. Access to the fourth home was made by prying open a patio door that had no safety bar. The suspect(s) stole cash, jewelry, wallets, and electronics.

Police believe the suspect(s) are targeting homes that have minimal security features in place or are scouting for homes with insecure doors and/or windows.

Police are encouraging members of the public to be vigilant with securing their homes at all times. Ensure your doors and windows are properly closed and locked, and that alarms or other security measures are activated when you leave your home and overnight.

Any suspicious persons or vehicles should be reported to police as soon as possible.
