Just before 5:00pm on 3rd February a single male suspect armed with a handgun entered Rays Pharmacy on fourth line in Oakville. The suspect directed the staff to give him Oxycontin and other narcotics and then confronted a customer who entered the store during the robbery. The suspect fled the store with a quantity of narcotics. There were no injuries to the victims.

A short time after Halton police officers responded to a single motor vehicle accident for a vehicle into a pole in the area of Warwick Ave in Oakville. The responding officer identified the male driver as the suspect in the robbery and he was arrested at the accident scene. Recovered at the scene were the stolen narcotics and a black crossman air pistol.

Mr. Wayne VALERIOTE (27yrs) an Oakville resident has been charged with the following and will appear today in Milton Court.

– Robbery with a Firearm
– Point Firearm X3 counts
– Weapons Dangerous to the public
– Use firearm during the commission of an offence
– Wear a disguise during the commision of an offence
– Breach of probation.
