Severe cold suspends Oakville waste collection services

Due to the extreme cold and resulting hazardous conditions, Halton Region has suspended waste collection services scheduled for Tuesday, January 7 in the Town of Oakville.

The Region will return on Saturday, January 11 to complete collection in Oakville collection areas 1, 2, 3 and 4. Residents in these areas who did not receive collection are asked to remove their Blue Box, GreenCart and garbage material from the curb and place back at the curb, no later than 7 a.m., on Saturday, January 11 for collection.

Because of the cold weather, some Christmas tree and enhanced bulk brush collection in Oakville has also been delayed. Residents are asked to leave their tree and brush at the curb and this material will be collected as soon as possible.

Halton Region is closely monitoring the weather forecast for Wednesday. At this time waste collection is expected to proceed as regularly scheduled. Should this change, up to date information on waste collection will be posted at www.halton.ca/waste and residents can dial 311 for updates.
