Special Olympics Torch Run by Oakville Police – June 6, 2013

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is celebrating its 26th Anniversary this year and on Thursday, June 6, 2013 citizens throughout Halton Region will be witness to this landmark celebration.

Once again this year’s campaign will be unique in Halton, as three individual relays are to occur simultaneously, taking place in Milton, Oakville, and Burlington.

Oakville citizens are encouraged to attend one of the opening ceremonies taking place at WH Morden School, at 180 Morden Road for 9:00 AM start

Upon conclusion of the opening ceremonies, the Special Olympic Torches will be carried along routes throughout Oakville by a team of Halton Regional Police Officers, civilian staff and volunteers, students and teachers from our various school boards, local Special Olympians, athletes, and citizens.

Everyone is welcome to join us for a community BBQ and picnic at our closing ceremonies being held at the end of each of the relay events around the Region.

Spectators and supporters are encouraged to cheer on the participants along the routes, or join in (walk, jog, bike, rollerblade, or donate) and become a part of history in the
making!
