The Oakville Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to announce that the U.S. Ambassador, Bruce Heyman, will be the keynote speaker for the 61st Annual Chair’s Dinner.

“We were delighted when Mr. Heyman accepted our invitation to speak about business relations between U.S. and Canada at the Chair’s Dinner,” said Chamber Chair Kerry Colborne. “Strong relations between the U.S. and Canada are of vital significance to many of our members and Oakville businesses in general. There’s no doubt that Mr. Heyman’s address will be enlightening to all of us.”

Mr. Heyman presented his letter of credence to the Governor General of Canada on April 8, 2014, being sworn in on March 26 as President Obama’s personal representative to Canada. He is a 33 year veteran of Goldman Sachs, where he served as a regional managing director of the Midwest private wealth management group, which covers 13 states and half of Canada, from 1999 until December of 2013. During his swearing-in ceremony in Washington, the U.S. Ambassador stated:

“I commit to all of you, to all Americans and Canadians, that I will give 100% of myself to enhancing our bilateral relationship…because when America is strong it is good for Canada, and when Canada is strong it is good for America — but we are best when we are strong and standing together.”

The purpose of the Annual Chair’s Dinner is to recognize the outstanding contribution and leadership provided by the current Chamber Chair, Kerry Colborne, and to welcome the incoming Chair and Board of Directors. This formal evening includes a networking reception, dinner, and silent auction. Last year’s event, featuring CBC News Chief Correspondent, Peter Mansbridge, was sold out; a similar turnout is expected this year.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased through the website OakvilleChamber.com , emailing jad@oakvillechamber.com, or calling the Chamber at (905) 845-6613 Ext 205. Ticket prices are $125 for Chamber members; $175 for non-members. Tables of eight are available. Tickets are $125 for members and $175 for non-members. All prices are subject to HST.

The 61st Annual Chair’s Dinner takes place on Thursday, October 1, 2015 starting at 5:00 pm. It will take place at the Oakville Conference Centre, 2515 Wyecroft Road, Oakville.
