Halton police are investigating three separate incidents of homes being entered in Oakville, while residents were home sleeping.

During the early hours of Thursday, August 25, 2016 unknown suspects entered two homes on Old Oak Drive in West Oak Trails and another one on Callaghan Crescent in River Oaks. The suspects targeted jewelry, wallets and laptops.

Residents remained sleeping during all three incidents and no confrontations occurred with suspects. In two of the incidents the suspects are believed to have entered the properties through unlocked garage doors.

Also, any sightings of suspicious persons or vehicles should be reported to police as soon as possible.

Anyone with information relating to these incidents is asked to call the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905 825 4747 ext. 2216, Crime Stoppers at 1- 800 222 8477 (TIPS), through the web at www.haltoncrimestoppers.com or by texting β€œTip201” with your message to 274637 (crimes)

Firstly, it is spelled “burglars”, not “burglars” and secondly, Friday August 25, 2016 has not yet concurred.

I appreciate the information. Not only is it important to lock your garage doors, it is also recommended that garage door openers are not left in cars overnight either.
Hopefully I didn’t make any spelling errors, seeing how that is what everyone seems to be commenting on. Time to go back to school next week isn’t teachers;))

      Thanks Kim,
Regarding Charlotte’s comment – we appreciate when people do comment on errors. We are a small group – just three, so it can be difficult at times to edit to everyone’s expectations.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for taking the time to comment!

There have been two break ins on River Oaks this summer. Both times the side doors were kicked in right out of their frames!

As long as the law treats these crimes as a joke and does not give these dirtbag criminals any real sentences or punishment. They have no reason to stop !!! It’s a joke they can steal and steal and steal and nothing much is done to them. They need a serious jail sentence for once. Our laws are such a joke sometimes. So sad !
