Warm up the spring season at the second annual Wines & Lines, since little goes better with a good book than an excellent glass of wine. Canadian writers: David Bezmosgis, Claire Cameron and Robert Rotenberg will inspire and entertain as you enjoy exquisite wines, and a delicious light buffet.

David Bezmosgis“The Betrayers” was published in 2014. It was the winner of the National Jewish Book Award, A Wall Street Journal Best Book, A New Yorker Favourite Book, an editor’s choice for the New York Time Book Review, along with being shortlisted for the Giller Prize. For a writer, it doesn’t get better than this.

Cameron’s resonant plot and Anna’s unforgettable voice add up to a novel destined to stay with you long after you’ve chewed through it,” is what the Globe & Mail’s reviewer had to say about Toronto born Claire Cameron’s book “The Bear”. A riveting tale of two children left to fend for them selves after a black bear attacks their parents in Algonquin Park.

Robert Rotenberg is one of Toronto’s top criminal attorneys, who penned four thrillers. His latest, “Strangle Hold” is a fast paced legal chase through the halls of Toronto’s City Hall.

Each writer will be interviewed by one of Oakville’s most dynamic community leaders, Pam Damoff. Pam is the councillor for Ward 2, and the chair for Oakville’s Santa Claus Parade and the Terry Fox committee. Audience members will also have the chance to ask questions of the authors, and evening will  include a copy of one of the authors’ books, and a silent auction featuring paintings by Oakville’s premiere artists.

Funds raised will go towards Oakville’s Rotary Clubs’ 30 educational bursaries given to help grade 12 students pay for post-secondary education.

Wines & Lines will surely sell out fast, as it becomes one of the “must” attend events of Oakville’s spring social season. More information on how you can attend Rotary’s Second Annual Wines & Lines can be found on Oakville Rotary Clubs’ website.

Wines & Lines will be held at the OE Banquet and Conference Centre on 2245 Speers Road on Thursday April 23rd with a reception starting at 6:00 PM.
