On February 20th, 2014 at approximately 2:00 am, two youths who were walking in the area of Kerr Street and Rebecca Street were approached by four other males. The group of four males became confrontational and one pulled out a knife. A scuffle ensued with one victim being stabbed in the hand and the other victim being physically assaulted. Both victims received minor injuries.

The incident was not reported to the police at the time. Oakville High School Liaison Officers learned of the situation the following day and a police investigation was initiated.

On Thursday February 27th, 2014 members of the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau and High School Liaison officers arrested three young offenders in connection to the crime. One youth was released unconditionally without charges.

The second young offender has been charged with the following offences and has been held for a bail hearing.

  • Assault with a weapon x 2
  • Utter Threats to Cause Death
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

The third young offender was charged with one count of assault and will appear in Milton Youth Court.
