2018 Kerrfest celebrates its fourth anniversary with three days of musical fun featuring Kim Mitchell, Trooper, and many more excellent musicians.  Kerrfest takes place in Westwood Park located Bond Street and Kerr Street, which is just north of Rebecca. The performances begin on Friday, September 7th and culminate on Sunday, September 9th. Adding to this musical festival local merchants run sales, and restaurants serve up a wide and rich assortment of foods.

Sunday is focus is on children with fun events and great entertainers just for them.

2018 Kerrfest entertainment and activities for children

On Stage

Dufflebag Theatre

They perform from 12:00pm to 12:50pm.

DuffleBag Theatre brings classic fairy tales and folktales to life in their signature fun-filled and humorous fashion, using audience members as the stars. Students are enchanted by the clever stagecraft and witty narration. They are thrilled to watch their peers who are included in the company’s performances, especially when the performances don’t go exactly by the book! The Dufflebag Theatre brings to life “The Beauty and the Beast”.

Jack & Cosima Grunsky

They perform from 1:00pm to 1:50pm.

A renown Juno award-winning children’s performer, Jack Grunskyaed charms young audiences.  His daughter, Cosima Grunsky grew up with music, performing since she was eight years old. With her angelic voice and strong musicality, Cosima evolved into a dynamic solo artist, delighting young children with her unique “Cozy Music” brand. Prologue to the Performing Arts, a not-for-profit charitable organization bringing performances and workshops to schools across Ontario represents Jack and Cosima Grunsky.

Splash & Boots

They perform from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

In 2003 at Queen’s University Nick Adams and Taes Levitt created Splash & Boots as a class project. Since then they have performed around the world entertaining thousand of children. They have also been nominated and won several music awards.

Juno Nominations

  3. Songs from the Boot – 2016
  4. Big Yellow Tunes – 2017

They have also won three SirusXM Independent Music Award for Children’s Artist/Group or Duo in 20017, 2012 and 2014.

The duo is now on Treehouse TV.

Darren Evorglens

He performs from 3:10pm to 3:40pm.

He is a singer/songwriter. His newest song “Click Click Bang” has a very catchy tune similar to today’s top 40’s. With his own unique approach Darren belts out classics from Elvis, Tom Jones and Frank Sinatra, to name a few. Described by many, Darren has a rat pack swagger with a modern-day Elvis approach to his singing.

Activities for children:

  1. first 400 children 12 & under entering Westwood Park receive a ticket for a free hot dog
  2. a stilt walker,
  3. face painting
  4. super hero characters

Parking and Transportation

This year Kerr Street will be open since all activities take place in Westwood Park. Due to the popularity of Kerrfest parking is limited. In order to make your life easier Oakville Transit shuttle buses will run from the Oakville GO Station with a special drop off at the venue. The shuttles run every 8 minutes.
