Parking and Transportation:

Parking is always a challenge for festivals in Downtown Oakville, so here are a few options you could consider:

  1. Come really early to stake out a parking spot
  2. Ride your bike – there will be bike corral – bring a lock
  3. Walk, run, stroll, roller blade, skateboard etc
  4. Park at the Oakville GO station and take the Shuttle

If you need to bring your car, you might want to seriously consider parking at the Oakville GO Station. A free shuttle service will be running every 5 to 15 minutes from the station right into town There is lots of parking at the GO Station. On Friday the shuttle service begins at 5:30 PM, and begins at 11:00 AM on Saturday. Each evening shuttles runs until the lineups clear (about 30 minutes after the last performance).

Lakeshore Road East Closure

Lakeshore Road East closes from Navy to Allan. It closes on Friday from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Secondary streets closed from Lakeshore Road E to Robinson, and Lakeshore Road to Church Street.

Recommendations for making the 2018 Songs of Summer fun and safe:

  1. Separated from your family or friends, pick a common place and time where everyone can meet – hearing a cell phone will not work if it is noisy.
  2. Separated from your younger children, explain to them about who they can go to for help – such as a police officer, or fireman.
  3. Bring warm clothes – it can get cool by the lake after dark
  4. There are a number of emergency service locations stationed around – take note of them
  5. If you are riding a bike, make sure you bring along a bike lock, and neon markings for clothing for night at riding.
  6. Shuttles are accessible
  7. Accessibility parking on site is very limited, first come first served
