Kevin Flynn is the MPP for Oakville. He is the Minister of Labour, and has held the following positions: Chief Government Whip, Chair of the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation, and the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure. He has been involved in Oakville politics since he was elected in 1986.

Members of the community came out in droves this past Saturday afternoon to support Oakville Liberal’s campaign office opening in Kerr Village. Supporters spilled out onto the sidewalk around the new campaign headquarters at 109 Lakeshore Road West. Amongst the crowd were Mayor Rob Burton, several regional and town councillors, a number of educators, healthcare professionals, and firefighters – who are recognized for their ongoing and crucial contributions towards ensuring the best quality of life for the citizens of Oakville.

The Ontario Liberal party has a plan to create jobs, maintain the services we value such as education, health care, skills training and building modern infrastructure that meets our needs today and tomorrow. We know that Oakville wants a government that listens to them and the Ontario Liberal Party is listening.

    • Some of the ways the Liberal Party is investing in people and the economy include:
    • raising the minimum wage to $11 and index to inflation,
    • an Ontario Retirement Pension Plan
    • freezing MPP pay
    • higher pay for personal support workers and child care workers
    • attracting high-wage jobs while strengthening protections for vulnerable workers

Highlighted at the opening were Ontario Liberal government’s strong record of accomplishments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, transportation, and managing the economy since 2003.

In Oakville, some of the achievements include:

  • the new state-of-the-art Oakville hospital which is now 65% complete
  • 30-minute two-way all day GO trains
  • widening of the QEW with HOV lanes
  • more GO station parking and on-time guarantees
  • protecting our green space
  • bringing ErinoakKids child treatment centre to Oakville, the largest of its kind in Ontario
