As we all stand together on Remembrance Day, our thoughts and tears go to all the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. 97 years ago marked the end of World War I and we continue to strive for world peace to this day.

As we remember our Fallen for their bravery and sacrifice, Remembrance Day is also an opportunity to acknowledge and thank all the men and women who continue to dedicate their time and their hearts to protecting our great country.

As we recognize all members of the Halton Regional Police Service for their contributions each and every day in keeping our communities safe, on this special day, we would like to acknowledge and recognize the contributions of our members who have served our country through their involvement with the Canadian Forces and Reserves.

50 members of the Halton Regional Police Service represent a total of 400 years of military service. This includes both Military and Reserves prior to their policing career, as well as those who continue to be involved and dedicate time to their country, always wanting to do more.

Thank you, to the brave men and women who are currently serving and continue to model the courage and devotion of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Thank you on this Remembrance Day and every other day of the year. Lest we forget.
