The Halton Regional Police Service is currently involved in an investigation of a attempted car jacking during Midnight Madness in Downtown Oakville.

At 8:23 PM on Friday, July 14, 2017, Halton Regional Police tweeted that at approximately 7:20 p.m., a man was sitting in his car in the area of Robinson St & Navy St. in downtown Oakville when he was approached by another male who attempted to steal the vehicle. No weapon was seen, and the Victim was not injured.

The suspect left the area without the car, and was seen meeting up with a female, before they both walked away together eastbound. They were last seen together walking east in the area of Water St. and Robinson St in the Granary parking lot in Olde Oakville.

The male suspect is described as white, approximately 40 years old, 6′ tall with an athletic build, and has a black brush cut hair style. He was wearing a dark grey shirt with a black symbol on it, and very baggy blue jeans.

His female companion is described as white, has blonde hair, and is tall and very thin.

If you see or recognize either of these individuals please do not approach them, call 9-1-1 with any information that you have. Anyone with information regarding the attempted car jacking is asked to call the Halton Regional Police at 905-825-4747 or Crime Stoppers “See something, Hear something, Say something” at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS, through the web at or by texting “Tip 201” with your message to 274637 (crimes). The public’s assistance in this matter is very much appreciated.
