They finished first in the West division and the Ontario Junior Hockey League. The Blades ranked third in the nation according to the Canadian Junior Hockey League.

Their first round match up in the West division semi finals are the Brampton Admirals.

The Blades won the season series against them with five wins and one loss. They scored 23 goals forward and only 13 against during the six regular season games.

For the third game the Brampton Admirals came out firing on Tuesday in Oakville. Admirals scored three goals in the first period. Oakville came back to tie it up, but it was just too much for them to win. This win reinvigorated the Admirals. The Blades still led the series 2-1.
