If you are seeking a dynamic and challenging role in supporting the development of children and youth with a variety of physical, developmental and communicative challenges, THRIVE has a position for you. We are looking for a part-time (22.5 hours per week) Therapy Assistant to support children and their families. The Therapy Assistant will assist the supervising therapist in carrying out evaluation and intervention activities; preparing written and oral progress reports for client file and supervising therapist, and assist the supervising therapist with clinics. This is a 10-month active, 2-month inactive position.

The position is based out of THRIVE’s Wawa location.

What we need from you:

Community College diploma in Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Assistant – or, related human services diploma or 2 years of on-the-job-training in supporting occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language therapy or a related area
Minimum 2 years of experience working with infants and children and their families with established development and/or physical disabilities
A passion for supporting and working with a team and are committed to a collaborative, attuned, strengths-based approach to problem solving.
Self-motivated and able to work independently, balanced with a commitment to a collaborative team approach.
Are sensitive to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual and positional differences among staff, providers and children/families served.
Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset
First Aid and C.P.R. Certification is required
Satisfactory criminal background check and vulnerable sector screen (CPIC) is required
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required
Access to a reliable vehicle as travel is required throughout the district
