Hours of Work: Normal hours of work are thirty-five (35) hours per week, usually Monday through Friday, with a one (1) hour meal break. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary as there may the occasional requirement to attend to functions outside of normal work hours and/or work extra hours as needed.
Work Period: January through August 2025 (8 months)
Location: This position may be considered appropriate for a hybrid work model (a combination of on-site and remote work) per Employer policy.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Support position provides support to the division by assisting on key projects and functions including recruitment activities, division filing, Human Resources Information System data entry, and reviewing division documentation. The main duties and responsibilities of the position are in the areas of records and process management, recruitment, health and safety programs, administrative support, and other division functions.
The preferred candidate possesses the following:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
1. Enrolled in a program at a post-secondary institution with studies primarily related to Human Resources, Health & Safety, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
2. Practical experience in Human Resources or Health & Safety, and accurate keyboarding, data entry and proof-reading skills.
3. Familiarity with applicable legislation including Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Pay Equity Act, Labour Relations Act, etc.
4. Good administrative, communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, and public relations skills, together with the ability to use tact and discretion and to deal courteously and effectively with the public and fellow staff members.
5. Ability to multi-task, cope with interruptions and work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines, exercise discretion and judgment particularly when handling confidential/sensitive information. Possess initiative and personal integrity.
6. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), SharePoint, database management, and office equipment. Familiarity with a Human Resources Information System or intranet an asset.
7. Valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business. Ability and willingness to travel within the community as required.
8. Possess a Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (Level 2) with results satisfactory to the Employer, and a valid standard first aid and CPR/AED level “C” certificate (or willing to obtain).
