Ducky is a little shy at first, but quickly warms up and has plenty of love to give.

Oakville News, in partnership with Oakville & Milton Humane Society, highlights a special pet in need of adoption every week.

Ducky is nothing if not patient, having been in the care of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society for 750-plus days.

She first arrived as the shelter more than a decade ago after being found abandoned on the side of the road as a kitten with her sister. While happily adopted for many years, she was surrendered after her owner fell ill.

While shy at first, Ducky – whose meows sound more like quacks – quickly warms up and loves to cuddle on the couch. As playful as she is smart, the personable tabby will push her paw or head into you to ask for some affection.

If you have space in your home and heart for a sweet little senior, apply to adopt Ducky at omhs.ca/adopt/adopt-a-cat.

If you are interested in the Pet of the Week, please call the Oakville & Milton Humane Society at 905-845-1551 or visit omhs.ca for more information on the adoption process. If you cannot find this pet’s profile on the OMHS website, then they’ve been adopted.  Please consider adopting another one of their furry friends.
