Council Matters is a new show airing on Cogeco, Channel 23, to discuss topical news that matters to Oakville residents.

“These episodes continue the lively conversation regarding our expectations for the New Oakville Hospital and how we plan to transform the old OTMH lands,” Mayor Rob Burton said.

The first show speaks to the status of Oakville’s new state-of-the-art hospital and what residents can expect when it opens in 2015. Panelists include local MPP Kevin Flynn, Dr. Lorne Martin (Halton Healthcare Services) and Geoff Smith (EllisDon), as well as a panel of Oakville Councillors. This episode airs for the first time Tuesday, February 18 at 7:00 p.m.

The second episode addresses the excitement around Council’s approval of a community centre for the old OTMH lands site. Featuring David Mallen (Trafalgar Chartwell Residents’ Association), Janet Haslett-Theall (Joshua Creek Residents’ Association), and Andrea Stewart (Oakville Historical Society), as well as Town Councillors, the show will first air on Tuesday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m.
