What We Do

Welcome to our Fare Share Food Bank Oakville, where we are dedicated to fighting hunger and supporting our community. At Fare Share Food Bank Oakville, we collect and distribute food donations to families in need, ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to organize food drives, collaborate with local businesses, and coordinate volunteers to make a meaningful impact. Through our efforts, we strive to create a hunger-free community where every individual has access to nutritious meals and the support they need. Join us in our mission to make a difference and share the gift of food with those who need it most.

Why Us

We are a non-profit registered charity that has been run entirely by volunteers since 1987.

We currently have about 1,500 households registered with us for support. This is about 5,250 individuals, many of whom are children.

We believe in sharing food and feeding hope – strengthening our community.

Client households may come once per month to our location at 1240 Speers Road Unit # 6, between 3rd and 4th Line.

Important Facts

We are open to clients Monday’s 9:30 am to 2:00 pm and Thursday’s 2:00 pm to 6:45pm.

We are open for deliveries and donations only at various times during the work week. Please call to make sure someone is there to serve you at 905-847-3988.

The bulk of our non-perishable food comes from food drives held at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas and ongoing donations from churches, schools, businesses, supermarkets and others in our community.

Financial donations are vital to our existence. We need them to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables, fish meat, eggs, cheese milk, and a variety of other items.

Food and other items purchased for clients account for about 80% of the money spent by the food bank. The balance of the money goes towards typical overhead expenses.
